I have studied and worked in the field
of interpersonal communication for
nearly 30 years, have edited over 100
published books on communication,
NLP, self-help, and relationships, and
have published four books.

I hold a BA in English from the University of Oregon and NLP Practitioner Certification (pNLP) from
Designed Thinking. In addition, I am a Certified Communications Professional (CCP) through the
Association of Women in Communications.

My NLP training includes the following:

Blocks of Communication, taught by Michael Grinder, brother of John Grinder, co-creator of NLP
Charisma-Cats and Dogs, taught by Michael Grinder (“Recognizing cat and dog-ness in others”)
The Aligned Self, taught by Lindagail Campbell, NLP of Oregon

My experience is augmented with decades of study in Eastern philosophy (especially Zen and Buddhism),
hemispheric dominance, Myers-Briggs typology, behavioral and cognitive psychology, and linguistics.

In January 2012, I completed a rigorous dog training certification course through Animal Behavior
College. The program included extensive study and testing as well as a six-week internship with Susan
Oshie, owner of Paws4training. Lessons covered canine learning theory, training basics, safety, basic
obedience cues (sit, down, stay, come, focus, etc.), and problem-solving methods (jumping, barking,
chewing, etc.).
